According to the EHRD faculty at Texas A&M University, Human Resource Development, is best defined as:
"...the process of improving learning and performance in individual, group, and organizational context through domains of expertise such as lifelong learning, career development, training and development, and organizational development..."
The formal definition of human resources development has been shaped during the last five decades by the increasing interrelation among nations in the world. This interaction has resulted in complex dynamics between organizations and individuals’ interests. The role of HRD professionals has evolved from working on closed organizational structures to becoming an active agent who promotes the participation of individuals in the organizations’ open processes.
